Farravallo and Reign It In were the star workers at Awapuni on Tuesday morning, while four of their stablemates were just as impressive.

Fast gallops were held on the synthetic track or on the plough.

Farravallo and Rein It In used the synthetic track and were paired over 1000m in 1.2.6, with the final 800m taking 48.2, the last 600 in 36.4. They are likely rivals at Wanganui on Saturday.

Too Sweet and Wingman were given a similar assignment, covering 1000m together in 1.5.9, finishing with 800m in 50.3, the last 600 in 37 seconds even.

Not to be denied, In The Air and Wanganui entrant Our Giulia left 1000m behind in 1.8.1, sprinting home the final 800m in 50.8, the last 600 in 37.4. All four are trained by Roydon Bergerson.

All other fast work was on the plough, where John Doe came up with a smart gallop of his own, being timed 1000m in 1.7.1, with sectionals of 50.2 and 35.2.

He has been freshened after three races in the autumn, which yielded two fourths and a sixth.

Wanganui entrant Perfect Test, second fresh up at Woodville last Sunday week, ran 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 36.8, while Freedom Fighter and Sloane Square, fresh runners from the Oulaghan stable, took 51.3 and 36.2.

Pinkerton worked alone over 1000m in 1.9.1, increasing the tempo as he went to finish with 800m in 52.4, the last 600 in 37.1.

Thrilling, fifth in the NZ Oaks during the autumn, and Manzor Blue went 800m in 51.6, the last 600 in 37.5, and Casta Shadow recorded 51.8 and 38.1.

Smokin Mo had trainer Ashley Meadows aboard over a quiet round before speeding up to run 1000m in 1.4.1, the final 800m in 51.4, the last 600 in 38.5. Sailor Jack ended with 600m in 38.2.

Platinum Goddess and Platinum Tyche were paired over an even 800m in 55.2, the last 600 in 39.5 and both four-year-old maiden mares have not been seen since the autumn.

Papa Surf and unraced three-year-old filly Amiria (by Per Incanto) were kept to 800m 55.7, the last 600 in 40.1, and unraced three-year-old gelding Manuka Rush (by Per Incanto) ended with 600m in 40.3.

Smart filly Intention, who was unplaced when resuming at Taupo last Sunday week, had Showbastian Coe for a partner over a quiet 800m in 58.2, the last 600 in 41.9.

Unraced three-year-old gelding Donatello (by Reliable Man), trained by Ashley Meadows, ended with 600m in 42.5, and his stablemate The Scunner posted 43.9.
