Last-start winner Bold Belle put the polish on her fitness when she worked in great fashion at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was held a few metres out from rail on the new course proper, where not all horses could be timed because of the large numbers.  

The plough and the synthetic track were in use as well, and misty rain prevented the timing of several workouts.

Bold Belle used the course proper and covered 1000m in 1.6.1, with the final 800m taking 49.8, the last 600 in 34.8.

The seven-year-old was at the top of her game at Trentham last start, when she took her total stakes earnings over the $150,000 mark.

She is shooting for the sixth win of her career in the open sprint at Waverley on Friday.

Toronto was ahead of Our Akashinga after 800m in 49.5, the last 600 in 34.9, and both are trained by the Gray partnership. They are heading to Waverley as well.

Nadheema and unraced four-year-old mare Punisher (by Staphanos) caught the eye with their 1000m in 1.6.4, the last 600 in 35.7.

Ima Brazen One, who won fresh up at Trentham on Labour weekend, worked alone over 800m in 50.1, the last 600 in 35.1, followed straight after by Share Power and Tokyodome together in 50.4 and 35.9.

Belardo Boy, in the open 1650m at Waverley, skipped over 1000m in 1.4.2, the last 600 in 36.3, while Danjuro, in Sunday's Waipukurau Cup, and unraced four-year-old mare Pistachio (by Tivaci) went together in 1.6.1 and 36.5.

Abbakiss and Casino were paired over 1000m in 1.7.6, the last 600 in 36.2, and Jack Morrison went alone in 1.6.9 and 36.8.

Durham Lad and unraced three-year-old filly Kiboko (by Darci Brahma) matched strides over 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 36.1, and Kiboko has won back-to-back trials at Foxton and Woodville respectively.

Their stablemates My Alibi (Waipukurau Cup) and Furiosa clocked 51.8 for 800m, the last 600 in 36.9, while Popinjay and Rushin Home from the Breslin barn took 51.4 and 37.2.

Reservoir and unraced pair Merroca (by El Roca) and Jacobite Rising (by Ocean Park) went together over 1000m in 1.7.2, the last 600 in 37 seconds even.

Reservoir, unplaced on debut in June, won a trial at Woodville last week. All three are trained by Roydon Bergerson.

Omega Boy and Felucca left 1000m behind in 1.8.8, the last 600 in 37.1, while Sam's Turn and Loose Jewels were timed 800m in 52.9, the last 600 in 37.5.

Rogue Romance, unlucky at Tauherenikau last week, had Platinum Tyche for a partner over 1000m in 1.7.9, the last 600 in 38.2, and Lucullan went alone in 1.8.7 and 38.6.

Belzoni and Belle's Echo gathered speed from the 1000m (1.10.7) to finish with 600m in 38.5, and Crouch did a quiet round before going 1200m. His final 1000m was 1.11.2, the last 600 in 38.8.

Benefactor ended with 800m in 52.6, the last 600 in 38.1, while Exaggeration and stablemate So We Go (by Embellish) required 56.4 and 38.7.

Altezza and Blue Jeanie were not chasing the clock over 1000m in 1.10.8, the last 600 in 39.4, and their stablemate Only The Lonely was kept to 1.13.9 and 40.2.

On the plough, Belle's Charm and Rev It Up Rusty took the time honours with 1000m in 1.4.9, the last 600 in 37.7.

Last-start winner Call A Friend and stablemate French Doll left 800m behind in 52.8, the last 600 in 37.6, and Basslock, trained by Mark Oulaghan, ended with 37.2.

First Edition, who has not raced since May, ran 800m in 54.6, the last 600 in 39.7, while Kereti and last-start winner East End Lad recorded 55.7 and 39.9.

On the synthetic track, Testing sprinted 600m in 38.9.
