Maiden graduate Goddess upstaged the likes of Belclare and Platinum Attack when she galloped at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Horses timed during a very quiet session all used the plough (good).

Goddess, trained by part-owner Lucy Tanner, carried a light weight when she sped over 1000m in 1.2.6, with the final 800m taking 47.5, the last 600 in 35.1.

The Proisir mare has turned the corner since blinkers were added to the gear, resulting in an impressive maiden victory over a mile at Wanganui just before New Year.

She stepped up to 2100 metres at Trentham 13 days later, but was unsuited by a stop-start pace and raced far too keenly. She was a spent force before the home turn.

The way she continues to work in training suggests she can make amends back at Wanganui this Saturday.

Top mare Belclare and up-and-coming sprint star Platinum Attack worked right-handed and were at a fast clip early over 1000m in 1.3.2, finishing with 800m in 49.3, the last 600 in 37.4.

From five starts in Sydney last spring, Belclare won two Group 2 races over 1400 metres and is back for more Group 2 glory in Saturday's Westbury Classic (1400m) at Ellerslie.

Platinum Attack joins her on the trip north and will tackle the Group 1 Sistema Railway. He finished fifth in the Telegraph at Trentham last start after being jostled on the home turn.

Unraced three-year-old Kosta (by War Decree) covered 1000m in 1.9.2, increasing the tempo as he went to clock his final 800m in 53.2, the last 600 in 38.4. He is with Mike Breslin.

Linara and King Incanto were paired over an easy 1000m in 1.11.3, the last 600 in 40.4, while Wanganui entrant Ima Brazen One (open 1200m) went alone in 1.14.8 and 41.7.
