He's A Doozy and Coney Island steal the show

He's A Doozy and Coney Island were impressive on the new course proper when they galloped together at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was confined to the extreme outside, and all times reflected the perfect conditions. The synthetic track was also in use.

On the course, He's A Doozy and Coney Island were paired over a bold 1000m in 1.3.3, with the final 800m taking 47.8, the last 600 in 35.2.

He's A Doozy, a last-start winner at Wanganui, tackles the Anzac Mile on Friday.

He wore blinkers for the first time in the Hororata Cup two starts ago, finishing last after over-racing, hence they were removed at Wanganui.

Coney Island is holding his form strongly and should go well again at Wanganui on Sunday.

Jack Morrison and John Doe lost no kudos with their 1000m in 1.4.2, coming the final 800m in 48.3, the last 600 in 35.8. They are strong prospects for Feilding on Friday.

Uncle Arch and Jazlene, both from the Bryce Newman stable, went together over 800m in a solid 47.7, the last 600 in 35.3, while Damiano and Golden Lining clocked 48 seconds even and 35.1. They all earned respect for Friday as well.

Bradman and Charlotte's Way were in full flight over 1000m in 1.1.6 and the 800m in 47.8, but eased a fraction over the concluding stages to finish with 600m in 36.2.

Manifique, off to the Canterbury Gold Cup, worked alone over 1000m in 1.6.7, the last 600 in 36.6, and her last-start second in the Awapuni Gold Cup was a terrific run.

Ima Brazen One, a Foxton trial winner last week, and Pleasing covered 800m in 48.7, the last 600 in 36.2, while Linara, trained by the Fannin partnership, and Super Gold (Nicky Goss) took 48.8 and 36.2.

Last-start winner Lucullan had stablemate Victortheinflictor for a partner over 800m in 50.4, the last 600 in 36.3, and Kids Got Gears  (blinkers Friday) had Get Funky alongside over the same task in 50.5 and 36.8.

Lantern Way and Benefactor ended with 600m in 36.4, while Tokyodome (blinkers Friday) and Share Power recorded 36.9. Rogue Romance, who bolted in at Waverley last start, and Love Janie were timed 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 37.8.

On the synthetic track, Newman-trained maiden three-year-old fillies Casino and Street Appeal skipped over 800m in 51.8, the last 600 in 37.5.

Omega Boy, who is running honest races, worked alone over 1000m in 1.7.1, with the final 800m taking 51.9, the last 600 in 38.9.

Unraced three-year-old geldings Reservoir (by El Roca) and Waititi (by Reliable Man), both trained by Roydon Bergerson, ran 800m in 52.8, the last 600 in 38.1. Reservoir won at the Awapuni trials two weeks ago.

Gum Basher, knocking on the door, and Wal left 800m behind in 51.8, the last 600 in 39.7, and Bold Belle went alone in 54.6 and 40.1.

Last-start maiden winner Kosta and stablemate Popinjay (by Rock 'n' Pop), who could debut on Sunday, were kept to 1000m in 1.13.3, the last 600 in 41.4.
