Inmyshadow, Pinkerton, Cheval de Foudre and Rosemary Fizz all impressed in separate final trials on the plough at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Fast work was on the plough (good) or on the synthetic track.

Inmyshadow, preparing for a tilt at the Wellington Cup next month, covered 1000m in 59.7, coming the final 800m in 47 seconds even, the last 600 in 34.8.

The Ferlax gelding continues his cup quest in the r75 2100m at Trentham on Saturday and looks ready to pay a dividend. He will be ridden by Merana Hudson, who has been successful on the eight-year-old three times previously.

Race rival Pinkerton, the mount of Tayla Mitchell (a1), was just as impressive over his 1000m in 59.8, finishing with 800m in 47.6, the last 600 in 35.4. He must be respected.

His stablemate Cheval de Foudre breezed over 1000m in 1.1.4, with the final 800m taking 48.4, the last 600 in 35.5. The best is yet to come from this five-year-old.

Maiden four-year-old mare Rosemary Fizz (by Staphanos) really caught the eye with her 1000m in 1.1.7, clocking 48.1 for the final 800m, the last 600 in 35.6. She has not raced since June.

Mufhasa Classic prospect He's A Doozy, who headlined Tuesday's trackwork, was timed 1000m in 1.3.7, coming the final 800m in 50.7, the last 600 in 37.9. He will be ridden by Tina Comignaghi for the first time.

Lantern Way, in the r75 2100m, did two quiet rounds, with a 600m dash at the end of each one in 37.7 and 39.3 respectively. He is reunited with senior rider Jonathan Riddell on Saturday.

Port Chalmer, unplaced on debut two weeks ago, and an unraced Verdi gelding ran 1000m in 1.6.8 and 800m in 52.3, the last 600 in 38.1, while unraced four-year-old Edison (by Staphanos) took 1.6.9 and 52.2, the last 600 in 38.7.

Wellington entrant Fashion Icon (r75 1200m) worked alone over 1000m in 1.7.2, completing the final 800m in 52 seconds even, the last 600 in 38.6.

Her stablemate Victortheinflictor (MAAT 1400m), who will be ridden by Joe Doyle for the first time, covered 1000m in 1.7.8 and 52.4, the last 600 in 38.8.

Unraced five-year-old mare Basslock (by Shocking), trained by Mark Oulaghan, ran 1000m in 1.7.9 and 52.7, the last 600 in 38.9.

Lazy, trained by Paul Peake, did two quiet rounds, with a 600m dash at the end of each one in 40.4 and 39.6 respectively, and Rev It Up Rusty was given an easy 1000m in 1.11.3, the last 600 in 40.4.

Last-start Waipukurau Cup winner Benefactor was given light work, ending with 600m in 44.1.

On the synthetic track, Wellington entrant Call A Friend (r65 2100m) and Shirley Temple were paired over 1000m in 1.8.2, with the final 800m taking 52.4, the last 600 in 38.4.

Their stablemate Kereti (by Darci Brahma), fourth in the (Listed) Ryder Stakes in July, was timed 800m in 54.5, the last 600 in 39.9.

Donnybrook and Crouch, race rivals in the r75 2100m on Saturday, went together over a quiet 800m in 55.3, the last 600 in 40 seconds even, while Pepeha and Rushin Home were almost identical with 55.1 and 40.1.

Ima Brazen One, a big chance in the last of the day (r75 1200m), was kept to 800m in 58.7, the last 600 in 42.3., and she will be ridden by Tina Comignaghi.
