John Doe, down to debut on Friday, earned more respect for the up-coming engagement when he galloped in good fashion at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

John Doe, down to debut on Friday, earned more respect for the up-coming engagement when he galloped in good fashion at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

All fast work was on the plough (good).

John Doe, a four-year-old by Derryn, covered 1000m in 1.5.1 and finished with 800m in 50.6, the last 600 in 37.1. He is trained by Mark Oulaghan.

The gelding won a Foxton trial in the spring and dead-heated for first in another Foxton trial two weeks ago. He should go well at Waverley (mdn 1200m).

Wingman, in on Sunday (3yo 1400m) and last-start winner Vee Vee were paired over 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 37.6, while Jestin Case and Lincoln Towers, two more for Trentham, ended with 37.9.

Coney Island, a Foxton trial winner two weeks ago, and Rev It Up Rusty matched strides over 1000m in 1.4.1, with the final 800m taking 51.2, the last 600 in 38.2. They race at Trentham as well.

Unraced five-year-old Freedom Fighter (by Turn Me Loose) and unraced four-year-old Sweettest (by Time Test) left 1000m behind in 1.6.6, completing the final 800m in 52.2, the last 600 in 38.3. They are with Mark Oulaghan.

Trentham runner Linara, another Foxton trial winner two weeks ago, ended with 600m in 38.9, and top galloper Belardo Boy clocked 39.9.

Jack Morrison (Trentham) did good even work over 1000m in 1.7.9, coming the final 800m in 53.8, the last 600 in 39.7, and Lazy recorded 1.7.4 and 53.3, the last 600 in 40.1.

Main Street, resuming at Waverley (r60 2200m) after a long break, ended with 600m in 40.5, and he will be without blinkers on Friday. Pepeha (Trentham) clocked 57.1 for 800m, the last 600 in 41 seconds even. 

Top jumper Berry The Cash worked over a mile, being timed from the 1000m in 1.7.8 and 55.2, the last 600 in 41.7.

Unraced four-year-old Afternoon Siesta (by Shamus Award) and unraced three-year-old Viva Las Vegas (by Tarzino) were paired over 1000m in 1.13.1, the last 600 in 41.1, and they are in the Fannin barn.

Their stablemates Sweet Ada (by Adelaide) and Navy Bride (by U S Navy Flag), maidens not seen since the spring, covered 1000m in 1.16.1, the last 600 in 42.3. Super Flash worked alone in 1.13.8 and 43.3.

Unraced three-year-old Prostatic (by Proisir) ended with 43.5, and Call A Friend (Trentham) followed soon after with 43.8.
