Talented three-year-old Kereti has been kept up to the mark since racing on Wellington Cup Day, and he galloped in good style at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Fast work was held on the synthetic track or on the plough (good).

Kereti used the synthetic track and had senior jockey Kavish Chowdhoory in the saddle over 800m in 54.3, the last 600 in 38.7.

The Darci Brahma gelding won a maiden (1000m) fresh up at Tauherenikau over New Year then finished a game second to Ballon d'Or at Trentham (3yo 1200m) two weeks ago after setting the pace.

For his next start, there is a good chance he will head to Matamata in a fortnight's time along with stablemate Intention, who worked with Rushin Home this morning, covering 800m in a quiet 58.3, the last 600 in 41.9.

Intention won the Group 2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes (1100m) at Trentham just before Christmas then went on to finish third in the (Listed) Wellesley Stakes (1100m) three weeks ago.

The filly is now being aimed at the Group 2 $225,000 Matamata Breeders' Stakes (1200m) in a fortnight.

Pleasing, who has not raced since finishing unplaced in the Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings in September, was also given a quiet gallop this morning, clocking 57.1 for 800m, the last 600 in 40.7.

Unraced two-year-old Popinjay (by Rock 'n' Pop), an Alamosa gelding and a Per Incanto filly, three more from the Breslin barn, all went together over a 600m dash in 40.2. Sand Point went 800m in 59.5 and 42.7.

On the plough, unraced four-year-old mares Sweettest (by Time Test) and Wind Talker (by Staphanos), were timed 1000m in 1.9.2, the last 600 in 36.3. They are with Mark Oulaghan.

Grahams Pride, in the MAAT 1800m at New Plymouth on Saturday, did two quiet rounds with a 600m sprint at the end of each one in 43.9 and 39.4 respectively. He was a last-start maiden winner at Trentham a month ago.

Unraced five-year-old Havana House (by Redwood) covered 1000m in 1.10.3, the last 600 in 39.2, while his stablemates Jack Morrison and Main Street went together in 1.11.1 and 39.3.

Moon Money and Can Do gathered speed from the 1000m (1.13.6) to finish with 600 in 40.2, and unraced three-year-old Afterthought (by So You Think) did 800m in 58.9 and 42.6. He is with Mike Breslin.
