Talented Mike Breslin-trained three-year-olds Kereti and Pleasing were in fine form at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Fast work was held five or six metres out from the rail on the course proper, on the plough or on the synthetic track.

Kereti and Pleasing used the course proper and sped over 800m in 48.2, the last 600 in 35.6.

Kereti resumed with a good third on the synthetic track three weeks ago and will tackle the r65 1200m at Otaki on Saturday, with stable apprentice Jim Chung claiming 2kg.

Pleasing is not competing this weekend and has not raced since finishing fourth at Tauranga in mid-June.

Deadly Pony drew attention to her prospects with a solid 1000m in 1.7.1, the last 600 in 36.6. She finished second at Otaki a few weeks ago in r75 grade, but steps up to open company at Otaki (1600m) on Saturday. Brazilian jockey Bruno Queiroz rides her again.

My Alibi (r65 1400m) worked alone as well, covering 800m in 57.6, the last 600 in 39.4, and her stablemate Sotirio (r75 1400m) posted 58.9 and 40.9.

Lincoln Star (r65 2100m) left 1000m behind in 1.11.5, the last 600 in 40.1, and Durham Lad (open mile) ended a casual 800m with 600 in 42.1.

Farravallo (open 1100m) was kept to 1000m in 1.14.7, the last 600 in 42.5, after his head-line gallop on Tuesday. He won the corresponding event at Otaki last year, when it was run over 1200 metres, and the blinkers are going on for Saturday.

His stablemate and Otaki race rival Reign It In, who ran fifth at the Foxton trials (850m) on Tuesday, sprinted 600m in 42 seconds even.

On the plough, Kentucky Boy and Super Flash did a quiet round before galloping a bold 1000m in 1.4.5, the last 600 in 37.4.

Both jumpers head to Te Aroha on Sunday, with Super Flash (mdn hurdle No. 2) to be ridden by Portia Mathews, and Kentucky Boy (open steeplechase) by Nick Downs.

Unraced three-year-old gelding Al Passo (by Alamosa) and unraced two-year-old filly Amiria (by Per Incanto) were timed 800m in 55.7, the last 600 in 40.4. They are in the Breslin barn.

Their stablemate Rushin Home had Nikki Hurdle-trained Falcrests Belle (by Darci Brahma) for a partner over 800m in 58.2, the last 600 in 41.9.

On the synthetic track, four-year-old maiden mare Our Giulia (by Savabeel) and unraced three-year-old filly Sea Wolf (by U S Navy Flag) ran 800m in 55.5, the last 600 in 41.3. Our Giulia has not raced since April.

Call A Friend and Sevenayes were kept to 800m at three-quarter pace, the last 600 in 45.1.
