Platinum Attack followed up last Thursday's bold track gallop with another very smart workout at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

Fast work was held 9 metres out on the new course proper (firm), and the synthetic track was in use as well. Just one gallop was recorded on the plough (good).

Platinum Attack worked in company on the course last Thursday, but this morning went alone over 1000m in 1.3.9, with the final 800m taking 48.5, the last 600 in 34.5. He could not have been more impressive.

He now heads to Riccarton for the big sprint double of the Pegasus Stakes (1000m) and Stewards' Stakes (1200m) on consecutive Saturdays.

His stablemates Connello, in the Breeders' Stakes at Riccarton, and Manzor Blue lost no kudos with their 1000m together in 1.1.6, the last 600 in 35 seconds even.

Bona Sforza tracked Deborah Parry-trained pair of Share Power and Tokyodome by a few lengths early, but finished clear at the finish of 800m in 47.5, the last 600 in 35.5. She is entered for the 1000 Guineas on the first day at Riccarton.

Popsagoosey and Rithim were paired over 1000m in 1.5.2, the last 600 in 35.8, while Abbakiss and last-start Waverley winner Casino, both from the Bryce Newman barn, clocked 1.6.5 and 35.9.

Wingman, who scored a stunning victory at Trentham (Labour weekend) last start, and stablemate Turn It Up were timed 1000m in 1.3.6, the last 600 in 36.1, followed soon after by Pepeha and Papa Surf in 1.6.4 and 36.3.

Two Thousand Guineas entrant Intention had Kosta for a partner over 1000m in 1.8.1, increasing the tempo as they went to finish with 800m in 50.9, the last 600 in 36.1. Kosta won at Trentham on Labour weekend as well.

Ima Brazen One, yet another Trentham winner that day, covered 800m in 54.7, the last 600 in 36.9, and Bold Belle took 49.7 and 37.2.

Wonderboy and Our Giulia matched strides over 1000m in 1.8.8, the last 600 in 37.8, and Qacentina went alone in 1.8.1 and 38.4.

Unraced two-year-old Tifosi (by Super Seth), in at Wairarapa on Sunday, and unraced three-year-old Belle Coeur (by Vadamos) warmed up from the 1000m to run their final 800m in 54 seconds even, the last 600 in 38.1. They are with Bryce Newman.

Unraced pair of Pistachio and City Gold Dragon, both by Tivaci, left 800m behind in 55.2, the last 600 in 38.8. They are trained by the Didham partnership.

Poppy's Girl had co-trainer Hazel Fannin aboard over 1000m in 1.14.4, the last 600 in 38.9.

On the synthetic track, Vee Vee and Nadheema were together throughout 800m in 54.3, the last 600 in 39.7, while a Sweynesse filly from the Eales stable took 56.6 and 41.4. Kawatiri ended with 41.1.

On the plough, Street Appeal and Jazlene did nice, even work over 800m in 55.3, the last 600 in 38.8.
