Super Gold, an entrant for Taranaki on Saturday, and Vee Vee were in fine form at Awapuni on Tuesday morning.

All fast work was held on the synthetic track during a relatively quiet gallop session. Levin jump-outs were scheduled for later in the day.

Super Gold, trained by Nicky Goss, and Vee Vee from the Bergerson stable were paired over 1000m in 1.4.2, with the final 800m taking 49.1, the last 600 in 35.8.

Super Gold won a trial on the synthetic track last month and has since had an unplaced resuming run at Trentham, which had plenty of merit.

Vee Vee is fashioning a reasonable record, with three wins, two fourths and three fifths from his 14 starts.

Ardee Boy and Gum Basher did similar work together, covering 1000m in 1.4.7, finishing with 800m in 49.2, the last 600 in 36.4.

They are as honest as they come, and Gum Basher was very unlucky not to win at Trentham last start.

Platinum Designs was timed 800m in 50.2, the last 600 in 36.5, while Reign It In and unraced Ocean Park three-year-old Jacobite Rising went together in 51.5 and 36.9.

Lincoln Towers had stablemate Platinum Mission (by Wyndspelle) for a partner over 1000m in 1.9.1 and completed the final 800m in 52.7, the last 600 in 38.5.

Maiden four-year-old Jamaica Bay, trained by Kevin and Stephen Gray, had Brazilian jockey Bruno Queiroz aboard over 800m in 51.5, the last 600 in 38.3.

His stablemates Albarossa and last-start Egmont maiden winner Taupo Dancer went 800m together in 53.5, the last 600 in 38.6.

Maiden three-year-olds Honoka and unraced filly Belle's Charm (by Per Incanto) ran 1000m in 1.9.1 and finished with 800m in 52.5, the last 600 in 39.6.

Papa Surf and Sand Point were kept to 800m in 52.8, the last 600 in 39.7, and their stablemates Showbastian Coe and Ima Brazen One clocked a quiet 54.8 and 41.4.
