Bruce Newman-trained four-year-old mare Vavoom was in fine form at Awapuni on Thursday morning.

Vavoom, building nicely in a new campaign, used the synthetic and reeled off 1000m in 1.1.9, with very smart sectionals of 46.5 for 800m and 35.1 for the last 600.
The daughter of Vadamos, not seen on race day since August, has one win and a second on the board from just nine starts so far, and there could be a lot more to come.
Her stablemates Abbakiss and an Ocean Park-Queen Leonora filly were timed 1000m in 1.5.5, with the final 800m taking 48.3, the last 600 in 35.7.
Abbakiss (by Microphone) was a winner second up at Tauherenikau last month, then finished third of four at Trentham three weeks ago.
Altezza and Blue Jeanie, possible race rivals at Wanganui on Sunday (mdn 2060m), did nice, even work over 1000m in 1.6.1, finishing with 800m in 49.3, the last 600 in 36.7. Altezza's third placing last start was full of merit.
Agent Black Hand, in at Wanganui as well (mdn 3yo 1360m), and two-year-old In The Air (by Embellish), unplaced on debut, went together over 800m in 53.9, the last 600 in 37.9. Agent Black Hand was much improved last start.
Their stablemates Wingman and Charlotte's Way covered 1000m in 1.9.1, completing the final 800m in 52.6, the last 600 in 38.6.
Wingman, the winner of two from three, is nominated for the Group 2 Levin Classic (1400m) at Trentham on Saturday fortnight.
Top mare Sugah Sweet breezed over 800m in 53.1, the last 600 in 38.7, and is an acceptor for Monday's Poverty Bay Cup (1400m) at Taupo after winning a Foxton trial last week.
On the plough, lightly raced maiden mare Shockiff took the time honours over 1000m in 1.6.5, with the final 800m taking 52 seconds even, the last 600 in 37.8. She goes to Wanganui on Sunday for the maiden mile.
Shirley Temple (r65 1360m) and Kereti matched strides over 1000m in 1.8.3, quickening to complete the final 800m in 51.3, the last 600 in 37.5.
Chance Taken (mdn 2060m) and Scandalize followed soon after with 1000m in 1.6.9 and 52.3, the last 600 in 38.2.
Call A Friend had Thirsty for a partner over a quieter 1000m in 1.13.6 and 56.2, the last 600 in 40.6.
